New Business Mentoring

As part of the uxplore project, new businesses will be supported to drive their businesses forwards. Customised support and mentoring will be provided to exploit the latest technologies to drive innovation and businesses performance.

To apply for the mentoring, you must be an SME trading and registered in Coventry and/or Warwickshire. You also need to be registered at Companies House or HMRC for less than 12 months.

“The uxplore project has the potential to transform businesses by helping them innovate, grow and develop new products and services using 5G. I strongly believe that this initiative will add real and lasting value to Warwick District’s creative sector as it directly addresses multiple strategic priorities in our Creative Framework; a five-year strategy for sector growth. I’m thrilled to be supporting this project and look forward to visiting the new digital hub.”

frequently asked questions

What is the definition of an SME?

An SME is a small or medium-sized enterprise – defined as having less than 250 employees.

Which organisations can apply for ERDF?

Please refer to the National Eligibility Rules:

Do I need to provide match funding?

Yes. Applicants will need to secure eligible match funding usually at a 50% intervention rate.

Can I use ERDF to fund statutory activity?

No. ERDF cannot be used to fund delivery that is a statutory requirement of an organisation. Equally, ERDF cannot be used to replace statutory funds lost as a result of, for example, budget cuts or changes in policy.

Once approved, when do we receive the money?

The programme works on the principle of defrayed expenditure. This means that money must be spent and claimed back from the ERDF programme, on a monthly or quarterly basis. It is important to bear this in mind when planning your project.
